WHY WE'RE HERE

When we first discovered Belize, we were very skeptical.  Was it really paradise?  Was it really cheaper?  Yes!  (We thought so.)   It might not be the right choice for everyone, but here at BelizeNorth, we'll try to give you all the information we used to make an informed decision. oldperez.gif (208976 bytes)

Our Analysis.   We were hitting retirement age, without a big nest egg.  Colorado was home, but it was cold and expensive.  We began to list the pro's and con's.  Where could we retire?  Why did we choose Belize?  Here are the alternatives we considered.

We're Glad We're Here:  Read about Belizean life here.  In particular, you might like to read a letter describing the best reason for being here, called "Why Belize?"  As counterpoint, you might like to read my considered counter-arguments, called "Why Not?"
Retirement Options:  The Belizean government is trying to make it more attractive to retire here.  Here is a discussion of the options, actual legislation, and an analysis of the details.

UPDATE >>   Old Mr. Perez died late in 2000.  He was just "tired."
