What's Belize Really Like?  (April 2006)

I'm in the midst of writing a Thriller about Belize...the way it was in February 2000.  There's a lot of stuff in the book that I didn't know about in 2000!  Some of it I found out along the way.

A lot of people come to Belize, and, for one reason or another, they become disillusioned and leave. For a good look at some things you might not discover until you've been in Belize for a while, I have a good read.

Lan Sluder, who has written several good books about Belize, has some remarkable insights.  He recently wrote an ebook called San Pedro Cool, which you can see here.  (for FREE!)  At the end of the book, he has some conclusions, which will give you a lot of insight into what to expect if you move to Belize.  The section, called "Getting Along in Belize" starts on page 187, and it is a jewel!  Right on, Lan!... I couldn't have said it better.

In my forthcoming book, I have included a lot of discoveries about how Belize really works.   Money laundering, drugs, secret deals, and the shadow government are all part of the mix.  You'll have to wait for the book, though.
