Ukulele Lessons

My friend Julie Morse found out that my first instrument (at the age of 14) was the ukulele.  She had become a big Uke fan in Massachusetts, where the Uke is undergoing a massive resurgence in popularity.  So I began giving her lessons in December 2004.  

Here's Julie and Rick studying the Ukulele.  (She brought me a uke!!)

Next time she came down, she brought me a brace of Ukes.  You can see them here.  She wanted me to use them to start teaching kids to play, and so I did.  I put together a flyer, spread it around, and started teaching a class at the Gilharry Center -- a community gathering place about two blocks from RIX Place. The next time Julie came down, she and her daughter joined me for the class, as you can see below.
