What's A Third World Country?
One of my readers noted my confusion about what a third world country is. He sent the following explanation.
1st World: US/Europe/Japan (prosperous and free industrialized nations)
2nd World: Communist
3rd World: pre-industrial, mostly post-colonial states
It's now considered more correct to refer to states in the third world as
"less developed countries."
