Shine!D.B. Cooper is a rural legend in the States. He hijacked a 727, parlayed a $600,000 ransom, had the plane take off again, and then jumped out of the back of the plane, somewhere over the Oregon wilderness (never to be seen again.) The authorities think he's dead. We think he may be living down here in Belize, under an assumed name! (Think what you could do with $600K US in Belize! -- maybe even buy a hotel in San Pedro!!!) (Caution: We have absolutely no evidence of this -- it's all just wishful thinking!)Anyway, we think of him as a legend here in Belize, as well. Hollywood made a movie called The Pursuit of DB Cooper, and Waylon Jennings was asked to do some music for the film. This is the song, and we've taken some liberties with the third, & fourth verses.Shine Words & Music by Waylon JenningsMy friends never understood my rough and rowdy ways. They think I'm the only fool my daddy ever raised,That I don't Shine...
Here's 2 for 1, so do believe, I'd best believe somehow.I'd give 100 dollars, Lord, if they could see me now,...see me Shine...
I don't need no fancy ladies wastin' all my time,Give me Charlotte's tender love, she's the one that's mine,She makes me Shine!
I like livin' easy, I like livin' free. Livin' down here in Belize -- brings out the best in me, It makes me Shine!

I went looking for Waylon on the net, to get permission to use his lyrics, only to find out that he just died. Well, I'm sorry. I'm sorry he never got to visit Belize -- I think he would have liked it.
You can read all about DB Cooper here or here, or pursue the movie here.
Come on down, and we'll sing the song for you!
