Rick's Killer Ramen
(Jan 1911)
Ramen is a little package of Japanese noodles which
normally sells for 10-20 cents. I keep a lot of them on hand for a quick
meal. You can follow the recipe on the package, but it won't
be thrilling!!
1 Package Shrimp
Raman
1 Stalk Celery,
sliced thin
1 Slice Onion, course
dice
1 TBSP Extra Virgin
Olive Oil
8-10 Small peeled raw
shrimp (thaw in cold running water)
2 1/2 Cups Water
(any or all are
optional)
1 tsp Chicken
Granules
1/2 tsp Parsley
Flakes
1/2 tsp OLD BAY
Spice (or SeasonAll)
2 TBSP Diced Green
Pepper
2 TBSP Finely sliced
Carrot
1/2 Tsp Minced Garlic
2 Mushrooms, thin
sliced.
! TBSP Butter
(especially needed if you use mushrooms)
Sauté the vegetable
ingredients in oil until they start to soften.
Add the water and
bring to a boil.
Use a karate chop to
break the noodles inside the package. (KEEE-YOK!)
Open the package and
add the spice in the foil envelope.
Boil about 5 minutes
and add the noodles. Cook until the noodles are done.
Add Shrimp & cook
1 2 minutes until shrimp are done (pink)
If you use cooked
shrimp, put them in long enuf to heat. Cooking will make them
tough!!
Serves one or
two.
If you have a salad with this, it will serve two.
If you're hungry and in a hurry you can eat both helpings like I do!!
