Progresso Heights

Progresso is a town southeast of Corozal.  On the way to Copper Bank, you come to a Tee, and if you take a right, you go towards Progresso.  About a mile before you get to Progresso, you get to a new development called Progresso Heights which is being aggressively marketed in the US.  (See their website here.)

I am always cynical about land developers (and real estate salesmen) in Belize.  I generally recommend that prospective buyers be sure to see their plot during the rainy season before they buy.  This has not endeared to developers or RE Agents, as you can understand. But, I have seen a lot of developments under water!

A number of buyers on www.localgringos.com (which used to have a chat list called "Gringo Grapevine" ) were asking about PH, and so I went out and took some pictures.  It was my intent to go out during the rainy season and see how the development fared.  Unfortunately, I left Belize before Wilma. just in passing, dumped 10 inches on BelizeNorth. (Certainly not a REAL rain, which usually delivers 12-15 inches a day for several days)

At any rate, I thought I would show you the pictures, and speculate about what might be flood proof.  This is pure speculation, and of course, you should see for yourself.

The pictures may be slow loading, so I've split them up.

Progresso Heights -- Looking around

NEW:  If you're hungry for pictures; you should go here, to the sales site for Progresso Heights.  Unfortunately, it's just lots of pictures -- no commentary.

NEWER:  Here are some nice pix of a house for rent at Progresso Heights.
