Politix 2008.   (February 2008)

When you think of a "banana republic" you think of revolution, but Democracy is alive and well in Belize.  From 1981, the ruling party has changed hands every five years, until 2003, when the PUP won reelection for a second term.  During their reign, they ran up an incredible debt of about a Billion Belize dollah!  The country responded by replacing the Prime Minister and 21 out of 28 representatives with UDP.

The discussions, which were endless before the election, continue on the forums and lists, and in the newspapers.  I will comment at some length after a little while.  For now, check out these links!!
