Parties Make the World Go 'Round (so
let's all have a party) (Jun 2002)
After we quit playing at the Last Resort in 2001, we needed a
place to play. Our neighbors chipped right in!! Since then, they've
shown great creativity in creating a legitimate (or maybe not) reason to have a
party. Generally, everybody brings a snack or covered dish, and their own
beer/booze. Some of the parties.
Going away. The "snow birds" leave in
the spring and go back to Canada or the US. Before they leave, we have a
party.
Welcome Back. When they get back, of course!!
House Warming. Just moved into a different
house? Lets have a party!
Birthdays. I try not to celebrate my age (I just
observe birthdays very quietly) but some of us are young enuf to still
have a party!
Full Moon. Time to howl!! The view is
spectacular on the bay front.
Kentucky Derby. Margaret Briggs wrote a para
mutual spreadsheet in Excel, and we all bet. (Followed up by Belmont
Stakes at the Tarentine's.)
TGIF -- Thank Goodness It's Friday.
Actually, nobody's working that hard, but it's fun to celebrate the end of the
week.
SHIT -- So Happy It's Thursday.
Everybody in Consejo Shores goes over to the palapa in Consejo for hamburgers on Thrusday evening, so we
went out and played. (The place was woefully small, but we packed it!!)
New Years Eve. We charged money to pay the band,
and everybody BYO Booze, Mix and Dishes. Read one visitor's description of the

The Refrigerator Party. Brad and Christina lived
here 17 years without a refrigerator. When they finally bought one, they
threw a party.
"We haven't had a party yet this month" Party.
We got "tight" playing at the Last Resort. If we don't play for
a while, Green River Bill will throw a party at his (large) house just so we can
play!
Valentine's Day. We hired the hall in Consejo
Shores for this one. It was spectacular.
June Bug Party. June is a buggy time here in
Belize. Don't fret -- have a party! See the pix

Fourth of July. Colleen
throws a party on the 30th of June so she can snub everyone she doesn't
like. We throw a party on the 6th, and invite EVERYONE (including
Colleen!)
