Mis Amigos  (now, "Tthe Paradise Wranglers")

One of the things I've missed about the States is the "Good Time Music" that I used to play.  So, the first time I found a good place to play, I started plotting and scheming.  The Last Resort would be a great place, once they got the New River Ferry going on the road to Copper Bank.   Once the ferry was up and running, we put together a little band to play every Sunday afternoon.

The music is eclectic; a mix of Jazz, Country (which the Belizeans love),  Karaoke Sing-alongs, and Caribbean classics. The principal friends...

Sr. Ric.  Plays mostly guitar, with a little Dixieland banjo on "Sweet Georgia Brown" and some Belizean "Brukdowns."   Sings, mostly C&W & R&B.  ("Digs E, and A, and he's workin' on C.")

Brad Moore.  Plays Trombone, Mandolin, Vibes, Keyboard, and Mouth Harp.  Sings, occasionally is possessed by the ghost of Louis Armstrong (in the picture at the left) who haunts the Last Resort.

Christina Rose.  Guitar, Tambourine & Eggs.  Sings wonderfully, with an INCREDIBLE range, and dead-on pitch.

Bill Hinard.  "Green River Bill" plays bass, and smiles a lot.

Vladimir Kettner.  "The Bad Czech" plays drums and smiles even more than Bill, altho he isn't smiling here because he didn't have his new drums. (We put an old field drum and a set of bongos on a barbeque stand so he could use my "blasticks" to play.)  On the right -- happier with new drums AND a new hat.

We also have a lot of sit-ins and visitors.  Click here to see.

NEW:   After a year at the Last Resort, we are playing somewhere else. We're billed as "The Paradise Wranglers" now.  We've been to Cayo and played at "Caesar's Place" and we play a lot in Consejo & Consejo Shores. If you're in town, call us (422-0183) to find out where.  I've added some of our songs here.

NEWER:  I left Belize for 15 months.  When I came back, I outfitted a music room at RIX Place, and began to do a whole bunch of musical things.  Those things are chronicled here.  The trip back from the States to Belize is chronicled here.

FINALLY. It all ended, here.
