BRET

Dear Friends,

By now you know that the little “tropical depression” that hit us last Monday night turned into Hurricane Bret after it crossed the northern end of Belize and Southern Mexico.

We always expect a dramatic answer to our prayers. I remember my friend and pastor Danny Adams asking me “You were expecting a burning bush?” when I told him I felt like my prayers weren’t answered. And of course, Monday night, as I prayed, I hoped for a dramatic calm like Jesus brought forth on the Sea of Galilee.  Perhaps, however, the winds just calmed from 80 knots to 50 knots.  Who knows what might have happened if I had not been praying?

The water around our house is gone; the grass is six inches high.  If I could get my new used mower to run, we could mow.  Perhaps if Charlotte and I laid hands on it…  ?

Best,

Sr. ric & Mees Charlotte

PS:  A lot of people in the South have been praying for rain.  It looks like their prayers will be answered, huh?
