Band-in-a Box

Band-in-a-Box is Peter Gannon's remarkable music generator.  Given a set of chords, it will generate a combo arrangement (bass/drums/piano/guitar/strings/) automatically in whatever style you choose. There are hundreds of styles, from BB Rock, to  Reggae to Blue Grass.   You can input melodies with the mouse, or a midi-equipped keyboard.  I have about 1200 tunes in various genre, and the list is growing every day.

My dixieland list is available as a zipped file.  Let me know, and I'll send it to you.  It includes a vastly improved dixieland style, as well.  If you have your sound turned on, you can hear Band-in-a-Box right now, playing "Milneberg Joys".

FYI, "Milneberg Joys" (which Dr. John pronounces "mulenberg" ) is referring to the delights you could sample at the Milneberg Hotel out on Lake Ponchetrain outside of N'awlins.

Newest:(Oct 2009)  Well, it got lost out there!.  I put it out there again and people can't find it.  So here is where it is:

I am a member of a little Yahoo Group called Chestnut Tree Cafe.  The owner is V.    She is a nice lady!!
As with all Yahoo groups, you have to be a member to download files, but 
she will check you in expeditiously if you join, and you can unsubscribe

You will find the "Files" section in the upper left hand corner of the 
page.  There are two versions of the TradJazz collection.  A straight 
zip file (.zip) and a self-extracting version (.exe)   Both collections 
have the same content.   I may update them as time goes on, and I will 
let you know. (I want to add the melody to "I'm Coming Virginia" and a version of 
"Take Your Tomorrow"
