The Last Resort

The Last Resort, in Copper Bank, has 10 cabanas,  a library, and a sizeable restaurant.  Everything has a thatched roof, so you could describe it as "primitive luxury."   On the shore of Laguna Seca, it offers swimming and boat rides for fishing and sight-seeing.   You can take a tour of nearby Cerros, a preclassic Mayan ruin.

New:   (2006) These pictures were taken in 2001.  The Last Resort has a new owner, and is closed for now.

The restaurant serves a variety of Belizean and Gringo dishes, ice cream, and baked treats.  Recent specials include Ribs, Lasagna, Lobster Thermador, and Beef Wellington.

The Last resort is owned and managed by Enrique Flores and Donna Noland.  They are wonderful hosts, and they have a lot of fun, as you can see here.

Every Sunday afternoon, the restaurant features the music of Sr. Ric y Sus Amigos.

While the parents are inside, the kids are tubing on the lagoon.  The water is warm and a little salty, about like "The Plunge" at Atlantic City.  Of course, it's not as crowded, but you can't have everything.
